Art Everywhere – Best British art not only in galleries or museums

Lucian Freud could observe, with his melancholic look, the crowd passing through Finsbury Park, one of  London's Underground Stations ('Man's Head - Self Portrait, 1963). Ophelia by Sir John Everett Millais (1851-1852) asleep, watching over pedestrians and David Hockney, on Peter Blake's painting just set off for a walk with Londoners. Have a Nice Day , Mr Hockney!

The project Art Everywhere has been funded by donations from galleries, curators and private individuals.  Works of art were selected by people voting on Facebook. The project aroused great public interest.

The Guardian supported the urban game consisting in finding posters and twitter was full of exictement from people that had seen them. Everyone can download an app that gives all the details about scanned artwork found in the urban scenery.

Beautiful initiative. Keep up the good work Great Britain!
